A Final Look Back: Tweed Run NYC

Style Icons.

Although Saturday, October 15th was one pretty fashionable fall afternoon overall, there were some absolute standouts at the Rugby Ralph Lauren Tweed Run NYC.  Amidst the tea and scones, vintage carnival games, gentlemen’s barber stop and the organized Tweed Rides were some fine ensembles, perfect for the sunny, but rather blustery October weather.  I captured some of the best below.

What can I say?  These two gents absolutely captured the spirit of the event!  Perfectly coiffed moustaches, dapper tweed patterns, Fair Isle sweater vests — even a flower in the lapel!

This lovely lady had a proper English accent, and she was fly in her Dwayne-Wayne flip shades (y’all know what I’m talkin’ about…ok, some of you do).  The photo doesn’t quite capture it, but her girly ruffled blouse was a beautiful lavender shade that complemented the merlot colors from the rest of her look, down to her fingertips.

Now these folks know how to dress for a Saturday cruise:  a-just-warm-enough soft vest with knickers (but finished with a tie and plaid button down)…a page-boy cap and crisp brown wool blend blazer for her, ties her whole bike and basket together into her look.

This cycle chick’s look was so effortless, she had a mob of photographers around her!  I love her cloche hat, and her awesome high-heeled suede oxfords.  Even her weathered and worn bicycle basket was chic!

Mr. Protestor got caught in the mix on his way to an Occupy event. (Rugby, after all, is near NYU.)  So, I took his lead and headed over to Washington Square Park myself that afternoon; pics to come…
